After family of 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' actor confirmed his passing at 72, his manager and producer Gerry Pass hails him as 'a gift to the world' for his kindness and grace.

AceShowbiz - John Wesley has died following a battle with blood cancer.

"The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" star's family confirmed on Sunday, September 08, that he passed away from issues relating to the treatment of multiple myeloma. He was 72.

"John Wesley was a gift to the world, for his kindness and grace are immortalised in his works of theatre, TV and film," the actor's manager and producer, Gerry Pass, said in a statement. "I am heartbroken to have lost a dear friend today."

While best known for his role as Dr Hoover in the hit NBC sitcom, the star amassed over 100 film and TV credits, alongside stars including Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman and Barbra Streisand.

He also starred in TV shows including "Frasier", "The Jeffersons" and "Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad", and on stage in Lillian Helman's "Toys in the Attic" and Eugene Ionesco's "Macbett".

He is survived by his wife, Jenny Houston, daughters Kimiko Kamiel Houston and Kinshasha Houston, and stepson Kyler Richie.
