During the latest hearing, the judge overseeing the 'I Believe I Can Fly' singer's case makes it clear that the trial date could be moved to accommodate similar cases in three other judicial districts.

AceShowbiz - R. Kelly's federal child pornography trial in Chicago, Illinois has been tentatively scheduled for April (20).

The embattled R&B star will also face charges of obstruction of justice, but the judge overseeing the case made it clear during a hearing on Wednesday (September 04) the trial date could be moved to accommodate similar legal matters in three other judicial districts.

Kelly's attorney, Steve Greenberg, told the court on Wednesday (September 04) he wasn't sure his client's legal team would be ready by April, reminding the prosecutors the defence lawyers have another three cases to prepare for.

The next hearing is set for 18 September.

Next year's trial is expected to last three weeks.
