The Labor Day weekend incident takes place at the Seattle Center in Washington during Jai Wolf's set, sending four festivalgoers to hospital for further treatment.

AceShowbiz - Music fans were left injured after a barricade collapsed at Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival on Saturday.

The annual music event takes place in Washington each year over Labor Day weekend. But dozens of fans were left with nasty injuries when a barrier gave way at the event over the weekend - leaving four festivalgoers seeking hospital treatment, according to the Associated Press.

The incident took place during Jai Wolf's set at the Seattle Center, with around 3,000 fans crowded around the stage for the performance. However, the electronic musician was forced to cancel the remainder of his performance as soon as the barricade collapsed.

"Saturday night at Bumbershoot Festival there was steel barricade failure that resulted in several non-life threatening injuries," organisers tweeted in a statement. "Those injured were handled by on-site medical teams and further treatment continued at an area hospital as deemed necessary."

Addressing the mishap on Twitter, "Indian Summer" hitmaker Jai, real name Sajeeb Saha, shared the barrier fell "due to the crowd pushing and jumping on the hill," adding, "I cut the music because I noticed members of the audience had fallen on top of each other. Before we could continue the show, we had to assess any potential injuries."
