Some people, however, defended Nick, saying his age difference with Mariah Carey is nothing compared to the one between the 49-year-old music mogul and the 27-year-old step-daughter of Steve Harvey.

AceShowbiz - Nick Cannon recently shared his thoughts on Sean "P. Diddy" Combs dating Steve Harvey's step-daughter Lori Harvey, who is 27 years the music mogul's junior. Nick appeared to be against that, saying that it would make him feel like a failed father if Lori was his daughter. His comments, however, backfired on him as people thought he was being hypocritical.
"She's what? Twenty-three? [Vlad interrupts to reply that she's 22] And he's 49. Twenty-two and 49. Aw, man!" the ex-husband of Mariah Carey said during his recent appearance on VladTV. "I don't have a problem with that, but I would be heartbroken if that was my own daughter...To each his own."
He went on saying, "But I would feel like I failed as a father if I'm sitting across the table with a dude the same age as me that's dating my daughter. I would feel like I failed." He was referring to the pictures that circulated online, featuring the alleged lovebirds enjoying a meal with Lori's step-dad Steve Harvey and mom Marjorie during a family trip in Italy.
His remarks didn't sit well with most people who would like that he had 11 years age difference with his ex-wife Mariah. A lot of people urged Nick to just mind his own business. Some people, however, defended Nick, saying his age difference with Mariah was nothing compared to the one between Diddy and Lori. "Their age difference was nothing more. Not a parent age difference," the person said of Nick and Mariah, with whom he shares twins, Monroe and Moroccan Scott.
Recent report suggested that Lori dumped her older beau. "Diddy and Lori were cool for a while, but the age difference was so big, they never really had a chance [at making it work]," said one insider. One of Lori's pals, meanwhile, spilled that the reason behind the split was because Lori feels that Diddy is too "controlling." The friend explained, "Doddy is very controlling - he wants to know where she is all the time. It was like she was dating her father."
As for Diddy, the hip-hop star reportedly didn't see it coming and was surprised with his younger girlfriend's decision. "He still wants her back, but she's done," added Lori's friend.
