Aside from being presented with the special award, the Oscar-winning filmmaker gets to premiere his new movie, 'Adults in the Room', that tackles Greece's financial crisis.

AceShowbiz - Greek-born director Costa-Gavras has been honoured with the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker award at the Venice Film Festival in Italy.

The France-based filmmaker received the accolade on Saturday, August 31 for his "particularly original contribution to innovation in contemporary cinema".

The Oscar winner also presented his new movie, "Adults in the Room", at the festival. Adapted from the book by former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis, it tackles Greece's financial crisis.
