Some others compare the hilarious moment to a 'SpongeBob SquarePants' scene where the titular character reveals a list of the things he needs to prepare for a party.

AceShowbiz - Lil Nas X surely knows how to make himself viral on the Internet. Following his record-breaking mega hit single "Old Town Road", the rapper has now created a new meme when he took the stage at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards on Monday night, August 26 to accept Song of the Year for the viral song.

Joined by his collaborator Billy Ray Cyrus on the stage, Nas pulled out an actual scroll from his pocket and joked that he had prepared "a little speech." But don't be fooled, because all he did was saying, "Thank you," before letting Billy take the mic.

The hilarious moment quickly became viral on social media, with many making a meme out of it. "No one: Absolutely no one: Not a single soul: Me when someone asks what I did this weekend:" someone quipped, as one other said, "Me getting ready to explain why I don't deserve happiness." One other chimed in, "Me opening The Cheesecake Factory Menu:"

Even the official account of MTV joined in the fun, tweeting, "When anyone asks me to show them the receipts:" There were also some who compared the moment to a scene on "SpongeBob SquarePants" where the titular character revealed a list of the things he needed to prepare for a party.

The new meme aside, Nas surely had a good time at the award-giving ceremony. He graced the stage at the Prudential Center in New Jersey to perform a rendition of "Old Town Road" before launching into his newer hit "Panini". Both songs were included in his debut EP "7", which arrived at No. 2 on Billboard 200.

Recently, Nas invited Joe Jonas to be featured on a remix of "Panini" after the Jonas Brothers member lamented about not being able to hop in a remix of "Old Town Road". Sharing a photo of him with the rising star at the event, Joe wrote, "My old town road remix never made the cut," to which Nas replied, "Imma let u on panini don't worry."
