Many are calling the 'Good Morning America' anchor a 'bully' as they accuse her of mocking the 6-year-old royal's love for ballet in an episode of the morning news show.

AceShowbiz - Lara Spencer has been catching heat after she made a comment about Prince George's favorite lessons that many deemed sexist and stereotypical. The "Good Morning America" anchor has apologized over what she did, but it apparently only made people get angrier at her.

The controversy arose on Friday, August 23, when the morning news show aired a segment that covered the little royal's hectic school curriculum. Lara paused for a while after she mentioned ballet lessons, while her co-hosts and the audience were laughing in the background. "He looks so happy about the ballet class," she said. "Prince Williams says George absolutely loves ballet. I have news for you Prince William: We'll see how long that lasts."

The audience might be laughing, but viewers at home were certainly not. Many deemed her a "bully," pointing out that boys can do ballet too. "That was disgusting. Dancing is an art and a sport. How dare you. You are officially canceled," one wrote. Dancer Derek Hough also weighed in on the controversy in an Instagram post, admitting how "disappointed" he was after watching the segment. "The tone and mockery towards dance is just dated, old and not relevant anymore. Those who mock don't understand," he said in the lengthy post.

Lara has since issued an apology in an Instagram post that read, "My sincere apologies for an insensitive comment I made in pop news yesterday. From ballet to anything one wants to explore in life. I say GO FOR IT. I fully believe we should all be free to pursue our passions. Go climb your mountain-and love every minute of it."

However, many people didn't think her apology was sincere in the slightest bit and began calling her out more. "I find @LaraSpencer response to be insensitive and her apology a cop out. Not good enough for me... is it good enough for you?? This statement needs to be made on air in the same forum she so freely judged and criticized," someone said. Another added, "She bullied a kid on national television and apologized on IG!? @LaraSpencer you're a coward and a bully. You should be hanging your head in shame."

"Rather than apologizing on an Instagram post, she should have the decency to do it as publicly as she shamed and insulted a 6 year old boy in front of the cameras that the whole world will see. Shame on Lara Spencer," an individual commented, with some others also saying that she should apologize on television. Someone else, meanwhile, urged her to be fired.
