Celebrating Genesis Tennon's acting debut, the 'How to Get Away with Murder' star admits during a red carpet interview she thought her little girl 'wanted to be a Navy Seal'.

AceShowbiz - Actress Viola Davis is beaming with pride over her daughter's acting debut in new family film "The Angry Birds Movie 2".

"The Help" star and her husband Julius Tennon made the red carpet a family affair at the premiere for the animated comedy on Saturday, August 10 to celebrate the accomplishment of their little girl, Genesis Tennon, who voices the character Vivi in her first-ever acting gig.

"(I'm) so proud," Viola gushed to Entertainment Tonight, before admitting she is shocked to see Genesis following in her shoes.

"I don't know if she wants to be an actress," the proud mum added. "I mean, the last time I checked she wanted to be a Navy Seal (solider). I was really happy about that because I want her to be able to handle herself."

Genesis picked up some solid advice from her Oscar-winning mum, but the words of encouragement had nothing to do with acting - Viola warned her to develop thick skin for bad reviews.

"(My mom told me) that no matter what people say, keep going," Vivi shared.

"The Angry Birds Movie 2", which also stars Leslie Jones, Josh Gad and Jason Sudeikis, hits U.S. cinemas on August 13.
