The son of Queen Elizabeth II and the first in line to the British throne is reportedly considering an offer to star alongside Daniel Craig in the next James Bond movie.

AceShowbiz - "Bond 25" could score a royal cameo. Words are the movie's production team has extended an offer to Prince Charles to appear in the next installment of the British spy film franchise and he seems to be interested.

"They loved the buzz around the Queen's appearance alongside Daniel Craig and think Charles could top even that," a source allegedly close to the production team told The Sun about the 70-year-old prince possibly following in the footsteps of Queen Elizabeth II to team up with Craig. "He is the epitome of everything British, perfect for a cameo role and Bond fans worldwide would absolutely love it."

According to site, the Prince of Wales received an offer to appear in the Bond movie during a set visit at Pinewood Studios last June. "When he visited the film set a few weeks ago it was discussed. Now he is considering it," the source added.

Now the producers are reportedly hoping that Prince Charles agrees to sign up for the cameo role, believing it would boost the movie after a number of setbacks during the production. "The producers are desperate to sign him," the source revealed. "It is no secret that the film has suffered a number of setbacks but landing a Royal could be just what the movie needs."

Previously, the Queen appeared alongside Craig in a short clip played during the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics in London. The short film saw Craig, as the fictional 007 agent, heading to Buckingham Palace to collect the Queen.

"Bond 25", which is still filming, has faced several issues, including Craig's ankle injury and a set explosion. Most recently, the set is under investigation by police over a second peeping Tom incident in a women's toilet. Back in June, a 49-year-old man was arrested and charged with voyeurism for a similar case.

The currently untitled James Bond movie is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters in April 2020.
