AceShowbiz - "Moana" star Auli'i Cravalho has signed on to lead the all-star cast of Disney's upcoming live Little Mermaid television special.
Cravalho will play Ariel in "The Wonderful World of Disney Presents: The Little Mermaid Live!", opposite Queen Latifah as evil villain Ursula and reggae star Shaggy as crabby cohort Sebastian.
The television special, featuring a combination of live action, animation and puppetry, will air on 5 November on America's ABC network to honour the 30th anniversary of the release of Disney film classic.
A live-action version of the film is also in the works, with Halle Bailey attached as Ariel.
