'Couple days ago my kid was having a level 10, defcon 1, couldn't-control-his-body meltdown at a restaurant,' The 'Booksmart' director begin her story on Twitter about her 5-year-old son Otis.

AceShowbiz - Olivia Wilde's faith in humanity has been restored. The "Booksmart" director recently took to her Twitter account to share a heartwarming experience involving some strangers who lent some help to her during her "chaotic" week.

"Couple days ago my kid was having a level 10, defcon 1, couldn't-control-his-body meltdown at a restaurant," she began her story on Thursday, August 1 about her 5-year-old son Otis, whom she shares with longtime partner Jason Sudeikis. "It happens. Poor guy was hungry as hell and overwhelmed. I was holding four bags and my 2 yr old. It was chaos."

In another post, Wilde, who is also a mother of Daisy (2), went on saying that "the place was packed and we were very much on display." She added, "I was in way over my head. I stayed calm but I was kind of crumbling inside. In the midst of the madness, 2 strangers, a young man and woman, approached and asked if they could help."

"I swallowed my pride and said yes, please, and they walked with us, placed my stuff into my trunk, and even put my daughter in her car seat, while I tried to soothe my son," she continued. "I thanked them and they said, 'hey no problem. We all have days like this.' "

Admitting that she was "so moved by this simple act of kindness," she added, "Their generosity profoundly effected my (and my kids') reality that day. I can't wait to do this for someone else. Humans are good. We can't forget that."

Despite the stressful experience, Wilde previously opened up about how having children had given her a newfound level of confidence. "I truly believe that having children -- certainly for me, but I would argue for many women -- made me feel a sense of confidence and inspiration that allowed me to move to a different stage of my life," she told USA TODAY back in May. "Once I had a baby, I was like, 'Wow, what can't I do? This is extraordinary. It's miraculous what I can juggle.' "
