The Fox Nation host sparks outrage among social media users after she tweets, 'Kamala did you fight for ideals or did you sleep your way to the top with Willie Brown.'

AceShowbiz - Tomi Lahren surely has a way to make people irritate with her tweets. This time, the Fox Nation host sparked fury after she suggested on the micro-blogging site on Wednesday night, July 31 that senator Kamala Harris is using sex for career advancement.

She said on her account, "Kamala did you fight for ideals or did you sleep your way to the top with Willie Brown," before sharing a link to an article wherein Brown talked about his past relationship with the California junior senator and acknowledged influencing her early career. People were not having it at all, including her own colleagues.

Janice Dean, Fox News meteorologist, hit back, "If a male contributor had tweeted this they would probably be suspended with a trip to HR. Pretty disgusting, Tomi. Are clicks and retweets worth demeaning women? Would you do the same to a 'conservative' female candidate?" Meanwhile, Britt McHenry said, "Do you have any idea how damaging this is to women who've actually been sexually harassed, assaulted or demeaned in the workplace? How much this weakens our own gender, regardless of partisanship. My goodness."

The backlash had gotten so severe that Lahren eventually did not have a choice but to apologize. "I apologize for my comment on Kamala's personal relationship. It was the wrong choice of words. There are many other things to take her to task for and I will stick to those," she said in a separate tweet.

Tomi Lahren issued an apology.

However, considering that Lahren hardly apologized for her controversial tweets before, people started suspecting that she was forced to issue an apology. Some even said that her apology didn't feel sincere. "This apology must have been motivated by a Fox News producer pointing to a chart with a downward arrow, a frowny face and a money bag," one said, as another echoed, "Sounds like she got a call from a Fox executive. Tomi doesn't generally backtrack unless it hits her pocket book."
