Los Angeles Coroner Confirms Cameron Boyce's Cause of Death Is Epilepsy

This arrives nearly a month after the 'Descendants' star was found lifeless at his home on July 6 after allegedly having a seizure in his sleep, breaking hearts of family, friends and fans.

AceShowbiz - The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner has ruled the cause of death of Disney star Cameron Boyce. According to the office, the 20-year-old actor's "sudden death" on July 6 was caused by "epilepsy."

"The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner determined the cause of death for actor Cameron Boyce was sudden unexpected death in epilepsy," it said in a statement on Tuesday, July 30.

"On July 8, an autopsy was performed, and the cause and manner of death were deferred. After additional testing, the cause of death was determined to be sudden unexpected death in epilepsy," the statement continued. The Los Angeles Coroner further revealed that "Grown Ups" star's "manner of death was certified as natural."

Cameron was found lifeless on July 6 at his home after allegedly having a seizure in his sleep. A spokesperson on behalf of the "Descendants" actor's family confirmed his death over the weekend in a statement which read, "It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron. He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him."

In honor of the "Jessie" actor, his father Victor has established a foundation which will "provide young people with artistic and creative outlets as alternatives to violence and negativity and uses resources and philanthropy for positive change in the world."

"Now is the time to make a change. Donate what you can. Encourage your friends and family to do the same. Let's keep Cameron's legacy alive and make a positive difference in the World," Victor tweeted on July 16.
