The 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star sends her 'prayers and love to the community of Gilroy' after a 19-year-old gunman opened fire at the Gilroy Garlic Festival, a day after she attended the event.

AceShowbiz - Teresa Giudice is deeply affected by a tragedy that recently hit the community of Gilroy. The reality TV star is devastated over the Sunday, July 28 shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival that claimed the lives of three people, including a 6-year-old boy.

The star of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" attended the event on Saturday, a day before the shooting took place. She took to Instagram to express her sympathy after the incident, writing, "I'm truly heartbroken hearing the events that have taken place at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Gilroy, CA."

"I was at the festival yesterday with wonderful staff, volunteers and many many families," she continued, "& I'm flooded with thoughts of them now as they navigate this tragic situation. Prayers and love to the community of Gilroy tonight."

Christopher Ranch, the only family-owned and operated commercial garlic farm in the country, previously shared a picture of Teresa at the annual three-day festival. "Day two of the world famous @gilroygarlicfestival is underway! So far it's been nothing short of a resounding success! Garlic," the post read before it was deleted. "Garlic brothers Ken and Aric Christopher were the first to greet celebrity chef @teresagiudice at her standing room only performance. Thanks to everyone for making it out to celebrate Gilroy, Garlic, and all things delicious!"

On Sunday, at around 5:41 P.M., a 19-year-old gunman opened fire at the festival with an "AK-47-type" weapon. Local police officers arrived at the scene, shot and killed the suspect within one minute of the shooting, but three people were already killed by then. The victims included a young boy named Stephen Luciano Romero, a teenage girl named Keyla Salazar, and a young man named Trevor Irby. Another 12 people were injured in the incident.

Katie Couric has also spoken up on the tragedy and is mourning the death of 6-year-old Stephen. "This is Stephen Luciano Romero. He was 6 years old. Last night, he was shot and killed when a gunman opened fire during the annual Gilroy Garlic Festival in Northern California," she posted along with a picture of the boy.

She added, "At least two others were killed, and 15 people were wounded. The festival remains an active crime scene, and a manhunt remains underway for a potential second suspect. This is the 246th mass shooting in the US THIS YEAR. I am sickened by this, we all should be. This is unacceptable. Don't be sad. Get angry. Elect officials at the local, state and national level who care about common sense gun reform and are brave enough to do something about it. #gilroygarlicfestival #gilroyshooting #news #rip."

Eyewitnesses reportedly have confirmed that another person was also involved. A manhunt is underway for this possible second suspect.
