Among the reasons why the Bravo producers are so eager to add the 54-year-old TV personality to the cast members is because they want a black women to lead the show.

AceShowbiz - Producers of "The Real Housewives of New York City" is planning to offer something new in the upcoming season of the Bravo series. According to a new report, the executives are hoping to get celebrities to star in new season, and they think Wendy Williams is a good fit.

A source reveals to Straight Shuter podcast host Rob Shuter that the show's host and executive producer Andy Cohen "wants Wendy and is doing whatever it takes to get her to sign up, even if only for one season." The source adds, "The franchise is looking for some stunt casting to make the show fresh and exciting. Post-split from her longtime husband, Wendy is the hottest lady in NYC."

Shuter goes on saying that Cohen is "desperate" to get "The Wendy Williams Show" host to star on the show. "Andy is begging Wendy to just think about joining the show for one season," notes the insider. "Having celebrities join the cast of 'RHOBH' has made that franchise a huge hit, now producers want to do the same with NYC."

Another reason why they are so eager to add the 54-year-old TV personality to the cast members is because they want a black women to lead the show. "How much longer can a show set in New York have no black women as one of its lead characters," the source wonders.

As of now, there is no word whether or not Wendy is up for the show. However, should she sign for it, "she would be guaranteed to be the highest paid housewife," according to the informant.

"RHONY" season 11 aired the final part of its reunion on July 25. Season 11 starred Bethenny Frankel, Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, Dorinda Medley and Tinsley Mortimer.
