Through a statement he shared on Facebook, Tony Cacciotti declares that he will be by the 'Rhoda' star's side as long as he is 'able and capable' while she battles terminal brain cancer.

AceShowbiz - Valerie Harper's husband Tony Cacciotti is refusing to put the actress in a hospice as she nears the end of her cancer battle.

The former "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" star has defied the odds with her health fight for years and now her spouse has chosen to care for her himself at home in her final days, despite the medical advice he's received.

"I have been told by doctors to put Val in hospice care and I can't (because of our 40 years of shared commitment to each other) and I won't because of the amazing good deeds she has graced us with while she's been here on earth," he shared in an announcement on Facebook on Tuesday (July 24).

Tony, who has been married to Valerie for 32 years, also revealed his healthcare plan for his dying wife, while thanking fans for their support.

"We will continue going forward as long as the powers above allow us, I will do my very best in making Val as comfortable as possible," he wrote. "There are two special ANGELS on this planet masquerading as humans who live and work together, that have made it possible to have all of Val’s needs taken care of."

"For those of you who have been in this position, you will totally understand that it's hard letting go. So as long as I'm able and capable, I'll be where I belong right beside her. Many, many thanks for your outpouring of kindness and support."

The beloved "Rhoda" star was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2013, but refused to give up acting and even competed on U.S. show "Dancing With the Stars".
