Signing on as chief marketing officer of Bangi Inc., Mathew Knowles claims that he makes the move since he likes 'to be on the beginning of a trend and not at the end of it.'

AceShowbiz - Beyonce Knowles' dad is joining the high life after signing on as chief marketing officer of marijuana real estate company Bangi Inc.
Mathew Knowles, who managed Destiny's Child and Beyonce's early solo career, is hoping to give the firm, which helps weed entrepreneurs find locations, a big business boost with his network of contacts.
He tells Page Six, "We are buying land... We'll lease it back to the growers, the dispensaries, the extraction companies... I'm a marketing guy. I like to think outside of the box. I like to be on the beginning of a trend and not at the end of it."
Knowles, who insists he won't be handling drugs as part of his new role, announced his new marijuana-related venture days after his son-in-law, Jay-Z, was named chief brand strategist at California cannabis dispensary firm Caliva.
"I found out the way you found out...," Knowles tells the outlet. "I called my people, (and was like), 'Damn, I wish mine would have come out first. The same week is cool. Neither one of us knew what the other was doing."
