Bad Bunny Scores Big Win at Premios Juventud 2019

While Drake's 'Mia' collaborator takes home three trophies from the awards ceremony at Florida's Watsco Center, Daddy Yankee steals the spotlight with his speech over Puerto Rico crisis.

AceShowbiz - Bad Bunny was among the big winners at the Premios Juventud 2019 awards on Thursday night (July 18), hopping off with three awards.

The Puerto Rican trap singer, real name Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, took home the uniquely-named prizes for Scroll Stopper, Can't Get Enough, and Street Style at the ceremony, held at Florida's Watsco Center.

Anuel AA also left with three gongs - Singing in the Shower, El Traffic 'Jam' and Couples That Fire Up My Feed - while Cardi B, Daddy Yankee, Karol G and Maluma all won two each.

One of the highlights of the evening was Yankee's emotional speech dedicated to the crisis in his home country of Puerto Rico, following the publication of derogatory comments from a private group chat including Governor Ricardo Rossello over the weekend.

The 889-page document features profanity-laced remarks about the Governor's opposition with sexist and homophobic undertones, and in one correspondence Rossello refers to New York politician Melissa Mark Viverito as a "b**ch".

"I claim the governor to hand over his position in a peaceful, reasonable and diplomatic manner," Yankee said. "Even though I travel the world, my final destination is always my home, Puerto Rico."
