AceShowbiz - Amber Portwood appears to have broken her silence after being arrested for assaulting boyfriend Andrew Glennon. The "Teen Mom OG" star took to her Instagram account to share a cryptic message about cheating, prompting people to assume if she attacked her boyfriend over infidelity.
"Cheating is a choice not a mistake," the 29-year-old TV star shared on Tuesday, July 16 only to delete it later. Amber has yet to respond to the request for comment.
The post arrives nearly two weeks after Amber was arrested and charged with three felonies including domestic battery, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and domestic battery in the presence of a child. The star allegedly assaulted her 35-year-old boyfriend at their home with a machete while he was holding their 1-year-old son James in his arms.
Reports claimed that he brought James with him and hid in the room before calling for 911, telling them that their lives were "in danger." Amber was arrested at the site though she was bailed out not long after her arrest.
Another report suggested that the fight stemmed from their difference in taking things. Amber was said to be looking to "simplify" things after her last relationship with Matt Baier. However, "Andrew has seemed totally different," according to the insider. "For the most part, it has been good, but lately a few issues have popped up that have made her question things and challenge her trust in him," the insider continued. "She has been through a lot. She just wants to be able to trust someone, and there have been major issues."
Additionally, the MTV star allegedly threatened suicide before the incident. Additionally, she allegedly swallowed a "handful of pills." A court document revealed that during their argument, "Ms. Portwood went to her drawer and took a handful of Klonopin and tossed it back like it was nothing." She, however, "regurgitated the pills" when Andrew said he was going to call for help.
Following the assault, Andrew reportedly filed paperwork on Tuesday in attempt to gain sole custody of James, just four days after Amber's arrest. It was said that he filed a petition for an emergency hearing regarding the paternity and custody of their child.
