Speaking of their cookie baking session that solidified their newly-mended friendship, the 'Swish Swish' singer says she agreed to visit the 'ME!' hitmaker's house under one condition.

AceShowbiz - Katy Perry has opened up about the road to her reconciliation with Taylor Swift after years-long feud. The two pop superstars hinted at their repaired relationship when Katy sent Taylor an olive branch and a sweet note addressed to an "old friend" on the opening night of the 29-year-old's "Reputation" tour in 2018.

"I sent her a literal olive branch and a note, apologizing for my part in all of it when she started her 'Reputation' tour," Katy said on Australia's radio program "The Kyle and Jackie O Show" on Tuesday, July 16 about how it all began. "I just thought she was about to embark on something new and big and needed the support."

She explained, "And truly, it was like as I was finishing mine, I realized how much we have in common, and maybe there's only five other people in the world that can have the same type of conversations and understand where we're coming from, and that we should celebrate our commonality and our friendship and to be able to be there for each other."

The "Dark Horse" singer admitted "there was some time in between" when she sent the olive branch and when they talked next. But after they met each other at various Oscars parties, Katy one day broke the ice. "I just went up to her and I was like, 'Hey, you know, it's been a long time, and I think we've grown up a little bit. And I just wanted to say I'm sorry, and that I'm really here for you, and that I love you and, you know, I hope that we can be friends in the future,' " she recalled.

From there they "started talking a little bit and trusting each other, 'cause it's about trusting, and she got my number, and we started texting," Katy said.

They later solidified their friendship in June this year with a cookie baking session at the "ME!" hitmaker's house. But the 34-year-old singer had one condition when she was invited to Taylor's house. She shared, "I said, 'The only way I'm coming to your house is if I can hold your new cat.' " Katy was referring to Taylor's newest furry friend Benjamin Button, which appears in her "ME!" music video. Turns out Katy also fell in love with the cute feline, hence the request.

Katy showed the cookies that Taylor baked for her on Instagram. "She invited me over to her house, and she made me some cookies. She actually makes those cookies, and they're actually so delicious," she said of the cookies, which were served on a plate with "Peace at last" written on it in red icing.

Katy also appears in Taylor's music video for "You Need to Calm Down", where they dress up as a hamburger and fries respectively. The two are dancing together and sharing an embrace in the clip.

On where their friendship stands now, Katy shared, "I can trust her, and she can trust me. And we'll see each other in the halls of the music industry and not avoid each other, and we'll embrace. I think it's amazing that we have had this opportunity to change, and I just hope that other people can learn from it, too."
