The 'Diamonds' hitmaker shows her new hairstyle as she announces 'breaking news', which is not quite as what fans have been expecting, in an Instagram Story video.

AceShowbiz - Rihanna can never get wrong with any kind of hairstyle. The 31-year-old singer has got her fans gushing on social media after she showed her new hairstyle in a video posted on her Instagram Stories on Monday, July 15.

The "We Found Love" songstress wore her hair in Bantu knots while getting cheeky and adding some filters in the video. She announced "breaking news" that she is heading to her home country of Barbados for Crop Over 2019.

The hairstyle, which originated from Africa, features portions of hair twisted into small knots all over the head. Fans have since heaped praise on the Barbadian beauty for her new look, with one jokingly writing, "She even look good tryna look like Loc Dog from Don't be a menace lol."

"Only she can pull this hairstyle," another added. Someone else similarly commented, "Rihanna look good in any hairstyle." Some others said that they wanted the same hairstyle as Rihanna's. "Smh now I gotta get this hairstyle," one wrote, while another said, "I want some bantus."

Someone else admitted that she used to dislike that kind of hairstyle, but Rihanna made her love it now. "Rih Rih got Chiny bumps. I used to hate then when I was kid. I love them now," the said fans wrote.

Her hairstyle aside, some others commented on the "breaking news" that Rihanna announced in the video. As many have been expecting new music from the Grammy-winning artist, they were quite disappointed that the announcement had nothing to do with her new song or album.

"I thought the breaking news was her album was dropping next week... I'm not in Barbados love," one responded to the news. Another added, "Rihanna we aint tryna hear nothing you got to say sis. where is the album!!"

Unlike her Bantu knots hairstyle which is loved by fans, her looks in the new issue of Harper's Bazaar China was recently slammed by Internet users, who accused her of cultural appropriation. The "Work" singer was wearing various kinds of high-fashion twist to the traditional Chinese garb in the spread.

"I know we all love her, but why isn't this cultural appropriation? Or is it and nobody cares bc it's rihanna? Or is it just 'fashion'?" one commented. Another said, "So no one is going to talk about Rihanna's 'cultural appropriation' just bc yall love her huh? Shows how much selective and fake woke yall are. You don't care about cultures, you just want to tear down successful people."
