Klas Bergling insists in an interview with CNN that his late son didn't plan his suicide, saying there might be a number of factors that brought him 'out of control' and took his own life.

AceShowbiz - Avicii's father Klas Bergling does not believe his DJ son planned to commit suicide.

The 28-year-old Swedish musician – real name Tim Bergling – was found dead in Muscat, Oman on 20 April 2018, with his family later confirming he had taken his own life.

However, in a new interview with CNN, Klas put the star's untimely passing down to a number of factors, including a busy schedule which "brought him out of his control", and compared his suicide to a "traffic accident".

"Our theory is not that he planned this suicide - more that it was like a traffic accident. Many things happened and came into the same station, so to say, and brought him out of his control," he explained.

"If you are very happy or extremely happy, it's not so far to be unhappy... small things can make you sad or move your balance and I think this is what happened."

"As a DJ or an artist you have to do a lot of things you don't want to do, in the end that takes a part of you. (It) takes a lot out of these people - the travelling, waiting at airports, late nights."

Klas also reflected on the close relationship he had with his son, who became a top name in the music industry thanks to hits such as "Wake Me Up", "Hey Brother" and "Levels".

"When he was in a bad situation he always used to call me. We talked a lot (about) his thoughts about life, his thoughts about meditation, love... we had long talks, often one hour or so, over the ocean," he smiled.
