William Montag, the 72-year-old father of 'The Hills: New Beginnings' star, changed his tune and pleaded guilty to a felony charge of child abuse, a year after initially pleading not guilty to sexual assault on a child and aggravated incest.

AceShowbiz - Heidi Montag's father William Montag has quietly admitted to his wrongdoing, after he was arrested by Aspen police for child sexual abuse and incest four years ago. The 72-year-old former youth ski instructor pleaded guilty to child abuse a year after he initially pleaded not guilty to sexual assault on a child and aggravated incest.

According to documents from the 18th Judicial District in Arapahoe County, Colorado obtained by Radar Online, William later changed his tune and pleaded guilty to a felony charge of Child Abuse- Knowingly/Reckless on August 5, 2016. He, however, managed to avoid jail time and was sentenced to four years of probation.

The woman first came forward with the allegations against William a.k.a. Bill in January 2015. She detailed years of sexual abuse by William, claiming that it began in 1993 when she was 13 and continued until she turned 17. The woman claimed William abused her on more than 50 occasions.

"She didn't want to carry Bill's secret anymore," an officer wrote in the report. The alleged victim also told authorities that she came forward now because she wanted to protect other girls from becoming victims.

The alleged victim additionally said she suffered from substance abuse in later years, and even attempted suicide.

William initially denied the woman's allegations, stating, "I'm not admitting to anything I didn't do." He also allegedly said she was "half nuts," and "has a lot of mental problems." Heidi and her husband Spencer Pratt reportedly also believed that her father was not guilty.

Sources told TMZ at the time that the alleged victim could not be trusted and that the accuser was "determined to destroy the family." The accuser allegedly "stalked Heidi and Spencer at various public appearances to the point security had to remove her." Heidi and her husband believed her father "will be exonerated."
