After receiving backlash and allegedly hurting his transgender father's feelings by repeatedly misgendering her on 'The Hills' reboot, Brody says on the show that he doesn't 'expect too much from' Caitlyn.

AceShowbiz - Brody Jenner once again threw shade at his father Caitlyn Jenner on "The Hills: New Beginnings". In a new (Monday, July 1) episode of the newly-revived MTV series, the reality TV star and his friends were talking about what it was like growing up with such famous dads.

Brody was praised for "handling" his situation "the best," but he admitted that he wasn't really close with his father. "I didn't really grow up with my dad," he confessed. "When I was really little, we got to spend a little bit of time. But when he started the family with the Kardashian family and all that, I didn't really see much of him."

The 35-year-old explained, "Bruce was just never really around. Every so often, maybe once every couple years - he wasn't around for my graduation. He wasn't around for most of my birthdays. So yeah, there really wasn't any relationship - it was just very surface. Eventually, we started to become closer. But then, all of a sudden it's like [she's Caitlyn]. I was just getting to know Bruce, and then Bruce became Caitlyn."

The model, who is Caitlyn's second son together with ex-wife Linda Thompson, went on telling his co-stars, "Caitlyn is a totally different person than Bruce. It's her true self, but Bruce was always holding a lot back and being somebody totally different."

While Brody and Caitlyn appeared to repair their relationship following her transition in 2015, their relationship has faltered again. "My dad, she's like a 15-year-old girl now," he said. "She's a totally different - I mean, it's awesome. It's great. She's happy, she's running around. She's off living her life, so what I've learned is to just not expect too much from her."

Brody was previously slammed for addressing Caitlyn as "he" instead of "she" in the premiere episode of "The Hills: New Beginnings". Defending his younger brother, Brandon Jenner said on Channel Q Radio's "Let's Go There", "Accidents happen and people slip up and you shouldn't shame them for it. There's not an ill intention." He also asked people to "teach through encouragement" instead of "tearing somebody down" despite Brody's mistake.

Caitlyn has not publicly responded to Brody's comments about her on the show. She, however, is reportedly upset after his son dissed her in the first episode. "Cait tuned into the first episode and was mortified to hear him dissing her, and repeatedly calling her 'him,' " a source told Radar Online. "Cait feels Brody knew that was the exact way to hurt her, all because she didn't want to put herself out there on a young person's reality show. She knew he could be a spoiled brat, but she didn't know he would stoop quite so low."
