Meanwhile, the 'Watch What Happens Live' host notes that the shows will keep 'someone who's funny and unique and interesting to watch. Someone who has something to say.'

AceShowbiz - Cast members of "Real Housewives" franchise are dynamic as it always welcome new faces to replace some old ones. Andy Cohen, who executive produces the hit Bravo reality shows, recently revealed the logic behind decisions on who gets to stick around and who gets fired.

The 51-year-old TV personality revealed in an interview with Paper magazine that the decision heavily relied on how viewers perceive the stars and their personality. "If they become a turn-off to viewers, for whatever reason -- they appear too fake, they're not interesting, they’re not entertaining -- [then they're no longer a fit]," he shared in the interview, which was published on Wednesday, June 26. "When people cross the line and it becomes unreal, that's when they are out."

Throughout the years, the show had fired some of its cast members. Among them are Brandi Glanville, Gretchen Rossi, Alexis Bellino and Jill Zarin.

Meanwhile, Andy noted that the shows would keep "someone who's funny and unique and interesting to watch. Someone who has something to say, and is different, surprising and just watchable." He went on explaining, "There's a fine line between people who are desperate to be on reality television, and people who you want to watch on reality television."

"The Venn diagram of desperation and watchable, it's a very slim thing in the middle where it overlaps, and you're like, 'That's the bullseye, that's NeNe Leakes, that's Vicki [Gunvalson], that's Bethenny [Frankel],' " he added.

Andy went on saying that being a host for the franchise for so many years led him to have "complicated" and "emotional" relationship with the cast members. "I'm a boss, I'm a friend. … I'm an adversary, I'm a button pusher. I've become legitimately friends with many of them. I care about them. So it's nuanced. And sometimes it's great and sometimes it's not great."
