Aside from the Russell Mulcahy-directed promo, the Nikita hitmaker has also released a live performance of the song from the 'Rocketman' premiere after-party at 2019 Cannes Film Festival.

AceShowbiz - Elton John has released a digitally-restored version of his "I'm Still Standing" music video after footage was rescued from the sea.

Director Russell Mulcahy thought he'd lost clips from the 1983 promo when he fell off the Carlton Beach pier in Cannes, France, while clutching his camera and into the ocean, but the footage has been lovingly reconstructed from scratch, according to Rolling Stone.

Recalling the colourful shoot, Mulcahy tells the publication, "The energy you see in the video is the energy on the set... It's just a fantastic song. It surfaced just at the right time in his (Elton) career...".

"It sends such a clear message that everyone can have a fall but you can get back up, and that's the anthem. I really forged a friendship with Elton. We became the best of mates and carried on making videos. He's just the most extraordinarily generous person."

The rocker has also released a live performance of the song, captured at the "Rocketman" premiere after party during this year's Cannes International Film Festival (May 2019).
