AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lopez and her new fiance Alex Rodriguez had a "weird electricity" when they first met in 2005.
The singer, who was married to salsa star Marc Anthony at the time, admits she has never had a connection like that with anyone else and still recalls meeting the now-retired baseball superstar in the tunnel at Shea Stadium during a New York Mets home game against Rodriguez's New York Yankees.
"We shook hands, and it was this weird electricity for, like, three seconds," Lopez recalls in a new Sports Illustrated article. "(It was) three to five seconds of looking at somebody right in their eyes, and getting stuck."
Rodriguez, who was married to Cynthia Scurtis at the time, had named J.Lo as his ultimate dream date in a 1998 interview.
The couple had to wait another 12 years after their Shea Stadium meeting to start dating after Lopez approached Rodriguez at a Beverly Hills Hotel party in 2017. They went on their first date days later and have been together ever since.
