AceShowbiz - Nik Wallenda and his sister Lijana Wallenda had a glorious return after a near deadly accident in 2017. The seventh-generation members of the Flying Wallendas pulled another dramatic stunt on Sunday, June 23.

The intense and nerve-wracking act, which aired live for ABC's "Highwire Live in Times Square with Nik Wallenda", saw the siblings walking on a 1,300-foot high wire between skyscrapers in New York City's Times Square, 25 stories above the pavement. Their shared cable was just 3/4" thick.

Nik and Lijana, who wore safety harnesses, walked from the opposite directions and crossed each other in the middle. During that particularly tense moment, Lijan sat on the wire and Nik stepped over her as he had to temporarily unhook Lijana's harness for the bypass.

Nik Wallenda and sister Lijana crossed each other during 'Highwire Live' in New York City's Times Square.

They were listening to Christian Gospel music as they crossed and Lijana was heard singing, presumably to calm the nerves, during the stunt. "Thank you, Jesus, glory to you, Holy God," Lijana said as she crossed on the wire. The stunt was completed in 37 minutes.

The "Highwire Live" marked their return to performing on a tightrope after they fell during a rehearsal of an eight-person pyramid highwire act for Circus Sarasota in February 2017. Five performers, including Lijana, plummeted to the ground while three others, including Nik Wallenda, managed to cling to the wire.

No one was killed, but all five performers were severely injured. Lijana suffered the worst injuries, breaking nearly every bone in her face. Doctors who treated the fallen performers said was it was "miraculous" that no one died in the accident.

Asked why she's back doing the wire act after the scary incident, Lijana said, "It is my passion." She added, "I forgot who I was after the fall. ... I finally remembered who I was (during training). ... I had to push through."
