The 51-year-old singer has been forced to cover his right eye when performing in Berlin and Copenhagen, and bandmate Gary Barlow is quick to poke fun at his new stage accessory.

AceShowbiz - Take That's Howard Donald has been forced to wear an eyepatch after being injured by an overzealous fan.

The 51-year-old sported the black patch over his right eye during shows in Berlin and Copenhagen earlier this week, ends June 23, as he hit the stage alongside bandmates Gary Barlow and Mark Owen during the European leg of their "Greatest Hits Live" tour.

Howard was reportedly poked in the eye while leaving a hotel in Amsterdam, with an insider telling Britain's The Sun newspaper, "In the melee, someone accidentally poked him right in the eyeball and it's still pretty sore, even now."

"One of the team then went out and bought him an eye patch which he could wear on stage to make sure he could keep it protected," they added.

Poking fun at the incident, Barlow shared a picture of the "Rule the World" trio on his Instagram Stories on Friday, teasing fans, "If you're stood stage right tonight Howard may not notice you."

He later shared another snap from the evening's gig, writing, "Eye eye. I want you patch for good," - a play on the group's 1995 hit "Back for Good".

Howard has yet to comment on the incident.
