The video highlights some memorable moments on the show, including swimming pools, wedding chapels, petting zoos being placed in the Plaza and the Halloween costumes the hosts wear every year.

AceShowbiz - NBC's "Today" is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its iconic Studio 1A on Thursday, June 20. A lot of NBC anchors, both the current ones and the former ones, were featured in the celebratory video for the milestone, though Matt Lauer was nowhere to be seen.

The 5-minute video, which offers the "special moments" over the years, opens with a shot of then-hosts Katie Couric and Bryan Gumbel in the '90s. The two can be seen introducing their viewers to the newly-constructed studio and welcoming fans cheering in the Plaza outside.

Later, longtime weatherman Al Roker says in an interview, "The crowd is really a cast member. They come out in all kinds of weather."

The video further highlights some memorable moments on the show. They include swimming pools, wedding chapels, petting zoos being placed in the Plaza as well as the Halloween costumes the hosts wear every year. Also featured in the montage are famous faces who have been a guest on the show, such as Bruno Mars, Cher, Ricky Martin, Mariah Carey, Lady GaGa, Jennifer Lopez, Aerosmith and One Direction.

Matt, who co-hosted the show for more than 20 years, was fired from "Today" back in November 2017 following allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior at work. Meanwhile, people are praising NBC for deliberately editing out the disgraced anchor as one Twitter user said, "Thank you for not including Matt Lauer you did the right thing." Others were wondering where was Ann Curry in the video.
