Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe notes that the separation between the Fab Four 'seems odd', adding, 'Whether this is a sign of a rift, this is certainly a sign of a division.'

AceShowbiz - This doesn't look good. It's reported that Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle are breaking away from their joint charity with Prince William and Kate Middleton, and the reason is because they can't stand being controlled by the Cambridges.

Talking to The Sun, royal commentator Duncan Larcombe said that the Sussexes' move indicates that the new parents are keen to "do things their own way."

Larcombe went on saying to Fabulous Digital, "It does seem odd. Why separate when you are both backing the same causes? Whether this is a sign of a rift, this is certainly a sign of a division." He continued, "It is clear that Meghan and Harry were initially prepared to slot in under the wing of William and Kate but that’s not how they feel a year on."

The young royals, whom people dub the "Fab Four", appeared together on stage last spring for their charity's first Q&A forum. However, just months after the joint appearance, the Royal Foundation allegedly would be divided between the Sussexes and Cambridges. The couples were said to focus on their own separate charitable endeavours.

The charity was first established by Prince William and Prince Harry back in 2009. Kate joined them in 2011 after her and William's engagement was announced. So far, the charity has put its focus on wildlife conservation and mental health as well as supporting the armed forces and young people.

Larcombe explained, "Harry is going to forge his own path with Meghan. For years, before he met Meghan, he was the royal gooseberry standing behind William and Kate. He's now a full-time working royal with his wife, he wants autonomy as to what he does, how he does it and how she does it, which is a definite change to how it was 12 months ago."

"William's quite controlling, and he was in control when it was just the three of them, but now he's not," he said. "Meghan and Harry aren't going to be controlled by William. They are going to do it their way, and there is scope for them to do that."
