Quick to pay tribute to slain DJ Official on social media are Ty Dolla $ign, who questions the motive behind the drive-by shooting, and DJ Mustard, who vows to take care of his newborn son.

AceShowbiz - One of Cardi B's go-to producers has died following a shooting incident in Los Angeles on Friday, June 14.

DJ Official, real name Leslie Andre Wakefield, Jr, won a Grammy earlier this year for his work on the rapper's "Invasion of Privacy" album.

The new dad, 26, had also worked with Tyga and Chris Brown.

According to reports he and another man were shot as they sat in a car. The hitmaker was pronounced dead at the scene, while his friend is fighting for his life in the hospital.

Police officials suspect the shooting incident was gang related, although the producer's grandfather tells news network KTLA Wakefield had no mob ties.

DJ Official became a father in March, shortly after his big Grammy win.

Paying tribute to the hitmaker on social media, singer Ty Dolla $ign shared a photo of himself with Official and wrote, "How the f**k they gon' take @prodbyofficial? Who the f**k was mad at my bro?"

Meanwhile, fellow producer DJ Mustard has offered to take care of his pal's newborn son. "I'm beyond hurt I'm devastated I'm sick to my stomach I love you lil bro forever @prodbyofficial...," he wrote. "i got your son 4 life this ain't how it was suppose to go."
