Riding with his hometown basketball team during their victory parade, the 'God's Plan' hitmaker treats fans to an Instagram Live video from one of the team's open-topped buses.

AceShowbiz - Rap superstar Drake helped his beloved Toronto Raptors continue their NBA championship celebrations on Monday morning (June 17) by joining their victory parade.

The "God's Plan" hitmaker, who serves as his hometown basketball team's global ambassador, rode on one of the team's open-topped buses as the athletes were welcomed back to Toronto, and he captured the special moment in a series of social media posts.

In one Instagram Live video, Drake and his pals could be seen hanging out with star player Kawhi Leonard and point guard Fred VanVleet, as the MC smiled at the team's adoring fans who had packed the streets below.

Another clip, posted online by a member of the crowd, showed the 32-year-old catching a can of beer thrown up to him by a fan, and chugging the whole thing on camera.

According to The Blast, Drake had flown the whole team back to Toronto on his private jet after spending the weekend (June 14-16) partying with the group in Las Vegas and toasting the franchise's first ever NBA title.

However, the victory parade wasn't without drama as gunshots rang out through the crowd just before 1pm local time, sending people running.

Police officials have since arrested two suspects and recovered two firearms used in the alleged shooting, which left two people with "serious" - but not life-threatening - injuries, reports TMZ.

The parade continued after the incident, with Drake hitting an outdoor stage at the end of the route to perform for fans.
