AceShowbiz - The Sunday, June 16 episode of "Fear the Walking Dead" season 5 featured a crossover debut of Austin Amelio's "The Walking Dead" character Dwight. Titled "Humbug's Gulch", the episode picked after Dwight was exiled by Daryl (Norman Reedus) from Alexandria at the end of "The Walking Dead" season 8.

[SPOILER ALERT!] In the episode, which was directed by Colman Domingo, the former Savior was on the road to find his wife Sherry (Christine Evangelista) who chose to escape rather than continue to live as one of Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) "wives." His journey took him to Texas, where he encountered John Dorie (Garret Dillahunt) and June (Jenna Elfman) at Humbug's Gulch. It was a local chain of Old West tourist traps where John used to work as a trick shooter.

A dust storm kicked up when June and John were looking for guns. They were trying to leave when someone started shooting fire at them. John hit back and shot the man in his arm. John approached the suspicious man, who turned out to be Dwight, who was later pointed a gun at him. It wasn't before he got knocked out by June who snuck up behind him.

As June treated his wound, John tried to find out what Dwight's purpose was. The two tried to convince Dwight that they were just trying to help, but he wasn't cooperative at first. It was a herd of zombie came towards his car that made Dwight run back to John and June's minivan. He was trying to find something in the glove compartment.

He later told John and June that he assumed they'd done something to Sherry as the last note Sherry left for him was written on the registration for this car. However, they revealed that they got the car at a campground with no one was there. Despite the possibility of Sherry being dead, Dwight wasn't about to give up. "I'm never gonna find her, I'm never gonna make it right," he said.

June also encouraged him not to give up as he reminded her of her old hopeless self. She stressed that if Sherry was still out there, she wouldn't given up, either. "And if she hasn't, how can you?" she told Dwight.

Later Dwight met Morgan. "We come from the same place," Morgan said, introducing Dwight to the rest of the group. Judging by how things went so far, it seemed like it wouldn't be long until Dwight completely adapted to the new place.

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 5 airs Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.
