Police Obtain Video of Lil Durk Shooting Victim in Attempted Murder Case

AceShowbiz - Lil Durk might be charged with criminal attempt to commit murder. Two weeks after the rapper turned himself in to authorities in Atlanta, he faced potentially damning evidence in the case against him when he and co-defendant Deavonte Bennet a.k.a. King Von appeared in a Fulton County courtroom on Friday, June 14 for a preliminary hearing.

According to a report, a police detective alleged that video footage showed Durk shooting a man while driving near The Varsity restaurant in the city last February. The police added that the motive of the shooting was robbery as the victim was robbed of $30,000, a gold chain and a vehicle amid the attack.

In another courtroom development, a witness claimed to have seen Durk pulling out a gun on the day of the shooting. The witness then added that she ran around the building when she heard gunshot, before making her way back to the scene and saw both Durk and the victim, who was in a pool of blood.

Durk and Von are now facing a slew of charges, including criminal intent to commit murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commision of a felony and a possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The shooting in question took place on February 5 just before 6 A.M. outisde The Varsity restaurant, where the victim, Alexander Weatherspoon, was shot once in the thigh. After he was shot, Weatherspoon ran across the street before collapsing in front of the nearby cigar lounge. He was rushed to Atlanta Medical Center for Surgery after the bullet struck his femoral artery. Meanwhile, officers discovered 13 shell casings from a pistol and a rifle in the parking lot. A 9mm handgun was also recovered at the scene.

Durk previously denied that he was involved in the shooting, telling the media, "I have nothing to hide. I have nothing to run from."
