In a clip shared on the heavy metal band's Instagram account, drummer Lars Ulrich can be seen whispering advice in the ear of Evan Adamson before they rock the arena with 'Seek and Destroy'.

AceShowbiz - Metallica made a British fan's dream come true when they invited him onstage to play drums on their hit song "Seek & Destroy'.

The heavy metal band was playing a show at Amsterdam, Holland's Johan Cruijff Arena on Tuesday, June 11 when they called on Evan Adamson, who was celebrating his 13th birthday, to join them for a special performance.

"Should we do one more out here?," singer James Hetfield asked the crowd, before quipping, "Oh God, Lars shrunk. They put Lars in the wash. I told them not to put him in the dryer".

He was referring to the band's legendary drummer, Lars Ulrich, who had stepped aside to give Evan his big moment in the spotlight.

Guitarist Kirk Hammett gave the teenager a slap on the back as Lars whispered some advice in his ear, while handing Evan his drumsticks.

The rockers even shared a video clip of the moment on their official Twitter and Instagram accounts, captioning it: "Happy 13th Birthday, Evan!".

Evan also shared some photos from the unforgettable moment on Instagram, writing: "Well well well no words. I mean to play drums in front of 68,000 people with my hero's (sic) my favourite band of all time was just the best thing ever and to top it all off it was my bday (birthday)".

Metallica are currently on the European leg of their WorldWired tour, which wraps in Auckland, New Zealand in November.
