The top chef and TV personality first filed for legal protection against the obsessed man, claiming to be 'the biological father' of her 11-year-old daughter, in early May.

AceShowbiz - Top chef and TV personality Giada De Laurentiis has been granted her request for a permanent restraining order against an alleged stalker.

The 48-year-old first filed for legal protection against the obsessed man, whose identity has not been made public, last month (May 2019), amid allegations suggesting he had harassed her online and confronted her in person.

In her court papers, De Laurentiis explained the messages initially seemed harmless, but became more and more personal, declaring his love for her and at one point, even claiming he was the "biological father" of her 11-year-old daughter Jade, from her former marriage to Todd Thompson.

She was granted a temporary restraining order at the time, but on Thursday, June 13, the judge overseeing the case extended the ruling to five years, banning the man from contacting or going within 100 yards (91.44 metres) of De Laurentiis or her child until June, 2024, reports The Blast.
