The music video finds the singer rocking a short purple wig and a cut-out shite dress as she sings about empowerment and determination while dancing with several female backup dancers.

AceShowbiz - Forget Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus has a new alter ego named Ashley O. Following the airing of the former Disney star's episode of "Black Mirror" earlier this month, Netflix released the music video for her character's song "On a Roll" on Thursday, June 13.

The music video finds Miley rocking a short purple wig and a cut-out white dress as she sings about empowerment and determination while dancing with several female backup dancers. "Oh honey, I'll do anything for you/ Oh honey, just tell me what you want me to/ Oh honey, kiss me up against the wall/ Oh honey, don't think anything, just have it all," the songstress rhymes on the song, which is actually a reworked version of Nine Inch Nails' "Head Like a Hole".

Accompanying the release of the music video was a "statement" from Miley's character about the song. "It's really important for people to feel like they're in control of their own destiny, and that means having the confidence to be who you want to be," she said.

Miley's "Black Mirror" episode, titled "Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too", tackles exploitation in the entertainment industry when Ashley O, despite her desires to break out and perform less commercialized fare, is marketed as a bubblegum singer and performer by her controlling and greedy aunt (Susan Pourfar), who doubles as her manager.

"The story is essentially the spirit of Miley and her commentary about the music industry and laughing at its absurdity," the show's executive producer Annabel Jones said of the episode, while creator Charlie Brooker talked about how Miley was related to the story, "There were aspects and things she was saying about live performance and the general sense of the responsibility you have to fans. The general sense of how you move on as a performer if you want to express yourself differently than the box people have you put it. I think all of that studd resonated with her."
