A year after avoiding prison time for unlicensed operation of a vehicle charge, the 'Fly Together' rapper finds himself in trouble with the law for allegedly skipping the deadline to return a rented car.

AceShowbiz - Rapper and actor Red Cafe is facing a new legal issue after he was arrested for allegedly skipping the agreed deadline to return a rented car.

The 42-year-old, who was featured in the Notorious B.I.G. biopic "Notorious", was busted by police in Beverly Hills, California last week, ends June 08, after he was spotted climbing into a 2018 Chevy Impala which had been reported stolen by rental agency officials.

The MC, real name Jermaine Denny, attempted to drive away, but was pulled over and taken into custody on a felony count of unlawful taking/driving of a vehicle.

According to TMZ, he was subsequently released on a $25,000 (£19,700) bond and is due to face the charge in court next month (July 2019).

The news emerges a year after the rapper, who has previously been signed to labels owned by hip-hop stars Fabolous, Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs, and Akon, avoided prison time following a 2017 traffic stop arrest in New York City, during which he was booked on counts of unlicensed operation of a vehicle, unlicensed driving, marijuana possession, and felony possession of a weapon.

However, his lawyers insisted the drugs and knife found in the vehicle were not his, claiming his driver had been using the vehicle, which Red Cafe leaves in the Big Apple while he lives in Florida.

He managed to strike a plea deal with prosecutors in April, 2018, when he copped to a disorderly conduct charge and agreed to stay out of trouble to maintain his freedom.
