Taking to his Instagram account, the former 'The Office' star explains that his African-American friend's niece found a noose in her front yard, stressing that it was a strong symbol 'racial hatred.'

AceShowbiz - "The Office" star Rainn Wilson is condemning Los Angeles police officials for failing to respond to an alleged act of racism reported by a friend.

The actor took to Instagram on Tuesday, June 04, after his African-American pal, named Jamey, sent him a photo of a noose his niece found in her front yard.

The 53-year-old alleges the police were informed only for an officer to ask, "What's the big deal?"

Cops' refusal to take action outraged Wilson, who expressed his disgust with fans.

"Well, officer, the noose is the symbol of lynching which was used to hang thousands of African Americans, especially by the (Ku Klux) Klan," Wilson raged. "Granted, this is a pretty lame noose. Might have been made by some local kids or something... But the fact is it is as strong a symbol of racial hatred, violence and oppression as a Swastika."

The LAPD have yet to address the incident.

Several Instagram users have praised Wilson for standing up and speaking out on his friend's behalf, with Taraji P. Henson writing: "THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS POST. GOD BLESS YOU PURE HEART!!!!"
