While it is still unclear if the Juventus forward has reached an agreement with Kathryn Mayorga, a notice of voluntary dismissal has been filed in Nevada state court in Las Vegas.

AceShowbiz - The woman accusing Cristiano Ronaldo of rape has moved the goalposts on her legal charges against the soccer star and model and is now filing papers in federal court.

Reports suggested Kathryn Mayorga had quietly dropped her case against the Portuguese international last month, but her lawyer insists she's simply no longer fighting the matter in Nevada state court.

Larissa Drohobyczer tells ESPN her client has changed the venue for the case after her legal representatives struggled to officially serve Ronaldo, who lives in Italy, with notice of the state lawsuit.

"The charges were not dropped," Drohobyczer says. "The state case was dismissed by us because we filed the identical claims in federal court due to federal court's rules on serving foreigners. We basically just switched venues, but the claims remain".

Mayorga claims Ronaldo raped her in 2009 in a Las Vegas hotel penthouse suite and then paid her to keep quiet about the incident. She filed suit against him last year (18).

The Juventus soccer star has denied the allegations against him.

Las Vegas police officials are also investigating potential criminal charges against Ronaldo, regarding the allegations.
