In his deposition over the July 2017 incident, the 'Shooter' star insists he didn't call the police to remove Elsie Hewitt out of his house since he didn't want 'to bring that kind of attention' to him.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Phillippe has broken his silence about the incident that led to his ex, Elsie Hewitt, accusing him of assault, insisting he simply fell as he was trying to escort her out of his house.

The model claims he pushed her down a flight of stairs twice while hurling expletives at her as she attempted to gather her possessions from his pad after a bust-up.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the actor was deposed by his accuser's lawyers and told them the alleged July, 2017 incident has been blown out of proportion.

He now claims Hewitt was "refusing to leave" his home and so he decided to escort her out: "I thought that I was going to try to remove her from the premises and set her outside and close the door. Because I didn't know what else to do."

"It hadn't occurred to me to call the cops. I'm a famous person. I didn't want to bring that kind of attention to me and my house. And so I attempted to pick her up like a baby. Carrying. Like a child. With one arm under the back and one arm under the legs. And she was flailing. And I made it one step, and I fell back on my bottom, holding her. And that was it."

Phillippe's assistant, Brady Ricci, has also been deposed about the incident and although he was not at the house at the time, he maintains his boss told him he picked Hewitt up to carry her down the stairs and made no mention of falling or throwing her.

An unidentified friend, who was with Hewitt, has backed up her version of events, according to The Blast.

Hewitt has also accused Phillippe of abusing drugs like "cocaine, ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms, and steroids" and filed documents claiming that his drug use might affect his ability "before, during and after the alleged incident to recollect the incident correctly".

In his deposition, Phillippe insists the only drug he took on the night of the alleged incident was marijuana.

The model is suing the actor for $1 million (£790,000).
