The legal warning from U.S. court is issued since the 'Underworld' actress and her estranged husband made no progress on the proceedings after she responded to his divorce filing in April 2017.

AceShowbiz - Actress Kate Beckinsale and director Len Wiseman will risk having their divorce petition dismissed if they fail to appear in court to finalise the split this summer.

The filmmaker first filed legal papers to formally end their marriage in October 2016, citing irreconcilable differences for the break-up, which had been heavily rumoured since 2015.

Beckinsale responded to the petition in April 2017, but the exes have made no progress on the proceedings ever since, and now they have been summoned to a U.S. court in July to try and bring the case to an end.

The legal warning issued to the former couple, obtained by The Blast, reads, "If you fail to take the appropriate steps in your case, the Court may dismiss your case for delay."

Representatives for Beckinsale and Wiseman have yet to comment on the report.

They have never directly commented on the breakdown of their 2004 marriage, but they have both since moved on - Wiseman was last linked to model CJ Franco, while the British beauty recently called off her brief romance with comedian Pete Davidson.

She and her "Underworld" director Wiseman have no children together, although Beckinsale is mother to 20-year-old daughter Lily Mo, from her previous relationship with Welsh actor Michael Sheen.
