Although she is unable to attend the 64th annual awards in person, the 'Heartbreaker' hitmaker sends a video of her acceptance speech, expressing her euphoria to be recognized for her songwriting.

AceShowbiz - Mariah Carey has been awarded the Special International Award at the annual Ivor Novellos in London.

The singer was unable to make it to the gala at Grosvenor House, but she recorded a video acceptance speech, in which she spoke about the honour, revealing she is rarely feted for her songwriting.

"I just want to say that being in this industry and waiting this long, as a female in music as well, I feel like the acknowledgement means so much that it's hard for me to even express that," she said.
