In his memoir 'Then It Fell Apart', the Harlem musician claims that he and the 'Thor' actress had a fling nearly 20 years ago, saying that she was 'flirting' with him in the dressing room.

AceShowbiz - Moby got candid in his tell-all memoir "Then It Fell Apart", telling his readers that he used to date Natalie Portman nearly 20 years ago. However, the actress has debunked the claim and hit back at the musician, insisting that she had never seen him as a romantic partner when they spent time together.

Telling Harper's Bazaar U.K. she was "surprised" to hear that Moby defined their relationship as a romantic one, Natalie said, "My recollection is a much older man being creepy with me when I had just graduated high school." Contrary to Moby's claim which stated that they met when she was 20, the Oscar-winning star stressed she was only 18 at the time.

"I was a fan and went to one of his shows when I had just graduated," she recalled. "When we met after the show, he said, 'Let's be friends.' He was on tour and I was working shooting a film, so we only hung out a handful of times before I realized that this was an older man who was interested in me in a way that felt inappropriate."

Natalie went on bashing the Harlem native, "There was no fact checking from him or his publisher -- it almost feels deliberate. That he used this story to sell his book was very disturbing to me. It wasn't the case. There are many factual errors and inventions."

In the excerpt of his book, Moby said that the "Thor" star was "flirting" with him in the dressing room. However, their relationship ended after Natalie told him she met a new man. "I thought that I was going to have to tell her that my panic was too egregious for me to be in a real relationship, but one night on the phone she informed me that she'd met somebody else," he said. "I was relieved that I'd never have to tell her how damaged I was."
