Officials are challenging a judge's decision, which sets the rapper's bail at $550,000, after he pled not guilty to federal weapons charges as he is currently under house arrest.

AceShowbiz - Prosecutors in Florida have filed legal papers seeking to have rapper Kodak Black placed back behind bars after repeatedly failing to stay out of trouble while on bail.

The embattled MC is currently under house arrest after pleading not guilty to federal weapons charges in court on Wednesday, May 15, and although the judge overseeing the case has provisionally agreed to set his bond at $550,000 (£429,000), authorities are challenging the decision, insisting he needs to stay locked up.

In new court papers obtained by TMZ, officials argue the 21-year-old's long criminal history is enough to justify keeping him in custody, because he has repeatedly ignored the terms of his previous probation releases for incidents including drug and gun counts.

They claim his pattern of behaviour is clear - "be arrested, get released, get arrested, get released, get arrested, get released, and so on and so on," while they go on to allege his crimes have been "substantial and violent," including a March shooting they believe he is also linked to.

Kodak's attorney, Bradford Cohen, plans to fight the motion.

The rapper was arrested shortly before he was set to perform at the Rolling Loud music festival in Miami, Florida on May 11, and he was subsequently indicted by a grand jury on charges of making a false statement in the acquisition and attempted acquisition of a firearm.

He is already awaiting trial for a separate case of sexual assault in South Carolina, and is facing drugs and weapons charges following an April arrest while trying to cross the border between the U.S. and Canada.
