Before things blow out of proportion, the 'Crazy Rich Asians' star addresses the incident, clarifying that she 'accidentally' likes a tweet which dubs Constance 'rude' and 'ungrateful.'

AceShowbiz - Gemma Chan refuses to get involved in Constance Wu's "Fresh Off the Boat" drama. The "Crazy Rich Asians" actress was spotted liking a tweet that criticized her co-star for responding rather unhappily to news that her ABC show got renewed for a sixth season, though Gemma claimed that it was an "accidental like."

In the Twitter post, which has been deleted since, the user alleged that Constance had "a reputation for being rude, petty, mean-spirited, and ungrateful."

Before things blew out of proportion, Gemma took to Twitter in Saturday, May 11 to address the incident. "Anyone looking for drama or beef, sorry to disappoint," the 36-year-old British actress said. Alongside a GIF of a woman gracefully maneuvering her way through a room filled with lasers, Gemma continued joking, "Future me dodging the like button whilst scrolling."

Constance landed on hot water after cryptically tweeting, "So upset right now that I'm literally crying. Ugh. F**k," after it was announced that "Fresh Off the Boat" was picked up for another season on ABC. She added, "F**k hell."

When a Twitter user expressed well wishes to her, writing, "Congrats on your renewal! Great news :)," the actress responded in a now-deleted tweet, No it's not."

She then backtracked her comments in a lengthy statement, clarifying her reaction. "I love FOTB," the actress began. "I was temporarily upset yesterday not bc I hate the show but bc its renewal meant I had to give up another project that I was really passionate about. So my dismayed social media replies were more about that other project and not about FOTB."

"But I understand how that could feel interconnected and could get muddled," she continued. "So here is me unmuddling it with my truth: FOTB is a great show that I’m proud of and that I enjoy. I’ve gotten to fully explore my character and I know her like the back of my hand. So playing Jessica is fun and easy and pleasant. I get to work with a kind and pleasant cast/crew. Which makes it all quite enjoyable -- so obviously I don’t dislike doing a show that is fun and easy and pleasant."

In related news, her drama now induces a new meme on Twitter. Seth MacFarlane jokingly tweeted, "Oh f***ing goddamn hell f**kf**kd**ks**t!" while quoting an announcement tweet of his FOX show "The Orville".

Seth was not the only one who made fun of Constance's renewal response. "The Goldbergs" star Sam Lerner tweeted, "Ugh god dammit f***ing hell. So upset right now," for his show's season 7 renewal.
