AceShowbiz - Another official trailer for season 2 of "Big Little Lies" has been unveiled by HBO. The new footage offers a better insight into the new season of the Awards-winning series which stars Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern and Meryl Streep among others.
"People think I am unhinged," Madeline (Witherspoon) tells her husband Ed (Adam Scott) after she's confronted by other parents at her daughter's school. As for Celeste (Kidman), she's seen to be having a hard time dealing with feeling of guilt following the death of her husband Perry (Alexander Skarsgard).
"I still feel responsible for the accident," Celeste shares.
Meanwhile, Celeste's mother-in-law Mary (Meryl Streep) is coming into the picture demanding an answer. "My son is dead and I want answers," she tells Celeste. When the latter argues that she does give her answers, Mary fires back, "You left some things out, didn't you? You were planning to leave him."
"And you learned of his infidelity just 10 seconds before he died," she adds. "Oh, you left that out too."
The sophomore season on "Big Little Lies" will explore "the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and the vicious ferocity of sound parenting. Relationships will fray, loyalties will erode…the potential for emotional and bodily injury shall loom."
EP Davie E. Kelley, who returns to write all the episodes in the new season, previously revealed that season 2 would pick up where the first season ended. The characters would be contending with the fallout of their big lie, and coverup of how Perry died. He went on teasing that season 2 would live up to the quality of the first season.
