One of the managers at Conrad's Restaurant in the town of Sudbury, where the get-together took place, claimed that everyone was 'pretty excited' when the 'Avengers: Endgame' star stopped by.

AceShowbiz - Hollywood hunk Chris Evans returned to his native Massachusetts over the weekend to make a surprise appearance at his 20-year high school reunion.

Instead of partying to toast the continued box office success of "Avengers: Endgame", the actor decided on a more low-key affair and stopped by Conrad's Restaurant in the town of Sudbury on Saturday, May 04, to join his Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School classmates at their anniversary get-together.

According to one eyewitness at the eatery, who shared a photo of Evans on Twitter, the movie star even stuck a name tag on his white T-shirt and black cardigan so his old pals would recognise him - even though that was far from necessary.

"Many people wanted to take pictures with him," Donna Scott, one of the managers at Conrad's, told Boston.com. "Everyone was pretty excited that he was there."

One of her staffmembers even managed to score his own photo with Captain America.

"I know one of my waiters heard that he was in there," Scott shared. "And he has two young boys, so he purposely made a point to come into the room to ask if he could take a photo with him."

Evans had plenty of reason to be in a celebratory mood - "Avengers: Endgame", the last installment in the current Marvel franchise, had just overtaken "Titanic" to become the world's second highest-grossing movie in cinema history after cracking the $2 billion milestone in just 11 days.

The superhero epic, which also stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Gwyneth Paltrow, among others, is now on course to dethrone "Avatar" and its $2.78 billion gross at the top of the all-time list.
