The former 'Inside Amy Schumer' star stopped by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Sunday evening and posed on the stairs, before delivering her first child with husband Chris Fischer.

AceShowbiz - Amy Schumer made sure she still became a part of the star-studded 2019 Met Gala despite skipping the event last night to deliver her baby. The comedian, who was still heavily pregnant at the time, stopped by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Sunday evening, May 5 while on the way to the hospital to give birth.

Dressing her baby bump in a gray T-shirt, beige cardigan and black leggings, the new mom completed her casual look with sneakers. She posed on the stairs, which were still barren without the pink carpet rolled over them, while the crew around her were busy doing their own business.

Amy shared a couple of photos, which were possibly taken by her husband Chris Fischer at the museum, on her Instagram page. "Met look this year. Last night on the way to the hospital," she cheekily captioned the snaps.

Her celebrity friends and followers were amused by Amy's hilarious post. Amber Tamblyn commented on the pics, "Welp, that's a wrap on my life because I am dead." Laura Benanti praised the 37-year-old actress/comedian, "You are my favorite."

Rumer Willis chimed in, "Goddess!! Best Dressed." English comedian and actress Tiffany Stevenson added, "Crowning is the most fashion thing you can do ... good luck . Also gracious of you to hang on and not take the shine off Meghan."

Amy, who was a guest of the annual fund-raising event in 2016 and 2017, welcomed her first child with her husband Chris on May 5, the same day Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal baby was born. Sharing the first picture of their newborn baby boy, the "Trainwreck" star gave a nod to the new addition to the British royal family as she wrote in the caption, "10:55 pm last night. Our royal baby was born."
